Pedram Karimi
Pedram, a PhD candidate at the University of Toronto since Fall 2022, is conducting his research under the guidance of Dr. Tilak Dutta. As a member of the EngineeringHealth team at KITE, Pedram leverages his expertise in biomechanics for his current project on slip prevention. His main focus is to explore how adopting safe walking strategies can reduce the risk of slipping on icy surfaces. Utilizing an interdisciplinary approach, he integrates principles from biomechanics, motor learning, and motion analysis to tackle the real-world problem of slip-related falls and injuries.
